Trick or Treat

We all had a very fun Halloween. I was able to go scrapbooking in the morning. I went by myself and really did not know anybody, but it was a great break from kids.
When I got home we carved pumpkins. Reid was ready to go. He and Aleah enjoyed the pumpkin carving the most.

Cade did not want to get his hands dirty. (He just wants to be a teenager now. His idea of being a teenager is wearing cool sunglasses and laying around watching tv. He told my mom and I this a couple weeks ago. It's so Cade.)

Trey touched Aleah's head and left dirt and pumpkin guts on her forehead.

The giant carved pumpkins. Uncle Bob and Aunt Judy grew the pumpkins and Grandma and Grandpa picked them. My kids are well provided for when it comes to pumpkins.

Trey had to say,"ouch", every whisker he got.

Mean football player. Last minute costume by mom worked out pretty well.

Cute cuddly puppy dog.

Scary pirate.

Baby Aleah frog.

The crew.

We went down to the fall festival the the church had. The kids had a blast. Everyone was missing Michigan when we were driving there, but once we were there everyone had so much fun that they did not mention Michigan again.

Cade, Reid, and Trey all took turns with the lasso, but Trey was the only one to lasso the bull.

Aleah was not quite sure about the pony ride, but she did not cry.

Hay race, not really sure what it was called, but it was Cade against Reid and Trey.

At the end of the night Craig had the boys come to the door. So they could ring the door and say "trick or treat" at least one time.

It was cold and dark when we got home and we all had a lot of fun.

Babies speak Spanish

I was up in my room , trying to find things so I could go scrapping the next morning, and I heard Reid playing with Aleah. She was just talking away. I think her exact words were something like ,"aaaaoooaaahhhh." Then Reid proceeded to say, "I think babies speak Spanish." He was just as serious as could be. I have to admit it did sound a little like she was saying, "hola."

Fall Break

We had a beautiful Fall Break. Craig took a couple vacation days and we were able to spend the 4 days all together. We went up to Grandma and Grandpa's house and had plenty of time to play outside in the leaves. We tried to go apple picking, only to find out you could not pick yourself anymore. (Things changed from when I was a kid.) So we bought some apples instead. It was cold and raining at that point, so we weren't totally disappointed.

Trey spent a lot of time being the leaf monster. Hiding in the leaves and jumping out and scaring us.

My sweet little boy.

Aleah is checking out the leaves and pumpkins.

It was such a nice break. Craig and Trey came home early on Monday. I came home later with Cade, Reid, and Aleah. I was sad to come home.

How much is that puppy in purple?

Now given the fact that my daughter has been giving me such a hard time when it comes to eating, this story is even more annoying to me.

Cute little Aleah all dressed in purple, has been trying to feed Tasha her crackers all afternoon. So when she went into the laundry room and discovered the dog food I assumed she was planning on feeding it to Tasha. Once I emptied the dog food from her little hand then I looked at her face to realize her mouth was full. I spent the next few minutes scraping dog food out of her mouth. Not just one or two pieces, but a whole mouth full.

Again, I can't get the child to sit in her high chair and eat yogurt for me; but she will consume dog food.

Birthday Girl

Miss Aleah turned one. It has been a busy crazy year. In some ways I can't believe she is one and in others it seems like it's been at least 3 years since she was born. It was a very busy first birthday, but she did very well. She had been sick and she continued to be sick for a lot of October. She was walking and saying mama and dada, and had 8 teeth.

Grandma spent the weekend with us, which was so nice. She had not spent the night with us since Aleah was born.

So the first big event of the day was Cade's soccer game. I have to mention this because before he even left for the game he said he was going to score a goal for Aleah on her birthday. Not only did he score a goal, but he scored two big goals. He played Great! Then we came back home. I had to get some food going and Aleah needed to rest. Reid's game came next. Now the games were only 3 hours apart, but the weather had changed a lot. We froze at Reid's game. It was miserable. And all of the kids on Reid's team looked pretty miserable.

For Aleah's party, Grandpa came with DziaDzia and Busia. Then Aunti Melinda came with Jaxon and Elijah. Uncle Tim came over a little later.

Aleah was tired and did not want to sit in her high chair and eat cake. Which is why she has tears in her eyes. So daddy had to hold her. But once she got started she enjoyed her cake and ice cream.

Movie star... I have no idea where these sunglasses are....
