Christmas Lights

We went into my Uncle Kay and Aunt Sue's house to see all of their Christmas decorations. The kids loved getting to walk through them and of course we had to take some pictures.

Photo Shoot

Why do I always think it's going to be so fun to take pictures for my Christmas card? Every year I do this to myself and then it ends up being a frustrating event. This year I tried even bribing the kids with ice cream, but Aleah did not seems to go for the bribes. She was just too tired and not interested in having pictures taken with her brothers. But they all looked very cute and I have ordered my cards. So it's not perfect, but mission accomplished.
Here are a few of the pictures that I am not using. You'll have to wait for your card to see the final picture.

Then here's how the photo shoot really went.

Come back Aleah.

Aleah stop screaming, Trey look this way, Reid open your eyes....

The Cutest Indian

Last night was Trey's preschool Thanksgiving Program. So we all packed up and headed out on the dark rainy night, which happened to be his birthday. I was a little nervous as we were going, because I was not sure how it was going to go. A couple weeks ago his teacher had sent home this little piece of paper asking us to help our child memorize his line.

V-VERY It's a very special holiday.

He actually said his line. He took the microphone and said his line. I can barely get Trey to say, "hi" to people because he can be so shy. And the sanctuary was PACKED...totally PACKED. Oh, and then there is the fact that he struggles with language and speech. I know it's not super clear, but we could not be prouder. He could have won a championship game or salutatorian of his class, I don't think I would have been prouder.

V-VERY Trey's a very special little boy.

Trey after his big performance. His Indian name was Laughing Water.

The Cutest Pilgrim

I was actually able to go work Reid's Thanksgiving Feast and he made it well worth it. When I came into his class he came running up to me and gave me a great big hug, and kept hugging me. How often does a mom get that? and in front of his friends? So they could have asked me to do anything from that point on and I would have done it. I enjoyed my job too. I helped set up the buffet and then helped served all the 1st grade classes. I had to run and go pick up Trey and then Aleah, but stopped to take pictures before I left. It's a good thing too. One of the little girls in Reid's class told me, "I told Reid that I think you are so pretty." Sad, that I have to make a note of that. But let's face it. I usually run around feeling like the household drudge, but a little first grade girl thought I was pretty. ( Maybe I should put on make-up and do my hair more often.) But in all seriousness, it was just so nice to be able to help with something. Since we moved it's been hard, because I have not been able to help the boys' classes like I did before; and Reid was so happy to have me there.

Lights! Camera! Action!

Last night was Cade's 4th grade music program. Aleah was running a fever, so Craig stayed home with she and Trey. Reid and I got to watch Cade's big performance. I must say I was impressed. Last year when I went to his music program (by myself... because everyone was home sick and I was starting to run a fever... notice a trend?) he pretty much stood there motionless the entire time. But this year he was singing and doing all the motions. Not sure if it was the music, or if he was just more comfortable, or if he and Carson were just not next to each other; but he and Carson were both moving this year.
The music was all from movies and TV. The only song I had heard Cade sing beforehand was the theme to SpongeBob Square Pants. Kind of funny since I don't even let the boys watch it. The kids could dress up as characters, don't ask me what the boy next to Cade is supposed to be.
It was fun and Cade did great!

SIT SIT SIT

Trey still is working on his speech. He has been going to speech since he was 2, he is getting ready to turn 5 in a couple weeks, and I am sure he has several years to come. So he is currently working on his "S" sound and has made a lot of progress. He is a little trooper and such a hard worker. But in some words his "S" still comes out "SH". Now my little helper boy, loves to help with Tasha. He likes to put her leash on and give her food. We always make Tasha sit before either of these occur. SOOO.... I must hear sh-t, sh-t, sh-t Tasha sh-t about 50 times a day. I try to correct it, but something tells me that this will be the last word for him to develop the true "S" sound.

Headbands and Bows

I have avoided the whole headband and bows, mainly because my daughter has no hair and a very round head. We went to the store today and just came across some simple and inexpensive ones, so I thought we would give it a try.

She thinks I am nuts putting these things in her hair, but she still has the headband on and is just running around playing.

And yes she does have a big bruise in the middle of her forehead.

Feeding the Hungry

Mornings around here can be a bit of a blurrrr, and I have been pretty sick and tired for the past two weeks. (you see I am building up an excuse for the events of this story)

Yesterday morning BOTH Cade and Reid informed me that they needed to take pop cans to school. The school was having a contest, the class that brought in the most got to have a pizza party and if you brought one can in you got to wear pj's on Friday. So I told them both if they got ready in time, we could go out to the garage and get some pop cans. They both got ready, but only Reid and Trey ended up in the cold garage helping me put some pop cans in a sack for each of them. I saved a few for Trey to take to preschool, his preschool collects them as a fundraiser. Cade and Reid were both happy and headed off to school.

End of the day....Cade and Reid walk in after school and both inform me that they don't need pop cans, they need food cans with actual food in it. Evidentally, their teacher felt the need to not only tell them they needed cans and food.... but they needed to point out that there needed to be food in the cans.

Yes.... I sent empty pop cans in to school to help feed the hungry. What do these teachers think of me?

Who Doesn't Love a Field Trip, especially when your going to the Grocery store?

Trey's preschool class took a field trip to the local grocery store. Several of us drove and we met at the store. Caleb and his mom, Gwen, road with us. (She is from Taiwan and her husband is from China. Caleb was in Trey's class last year too. So she and I have gotten to know each other a little.)

Soon after arriving the kids started getting snacks. So they all realized this was a good thing. First they got grapes, then cheese, then some fresh pizza. (A local restaurant makes and sells pizza in the store.) We got to go in the back of a semi, but I don't think the kids really even realized where they were. The semi was backed right up to the dock. The we moved on to the lobsters. Trey was not too sure about the lobsters. Funny given the fact that he and his brothers are always catching critters.

Next we got to walk through a freezer. Brrrr.
All the kids in the class got suckers. Then they got to choose drinks. This was a big deal.

Aleah enjoyed most of the trip too.

After we filled the kids with some sugar we got to take them back to school and drop them off for the teachers to deal with the sugar high.

Not Funny

Since I have officially become a blog stalker, due to Carrie's bad influence, I have appreciated how funny, clever, and thought-out some people are with their blogs. Now is has brought me to the conclusion that I am no longer funny. This makes me rather sad because I used to be funny. (I used to be able to write well and thoughtful sentences, but that's another topic.) So what happened to me. I used to make my friends and family laugh with my witty comments and sometimes accidental goofiness. Here are a few things that have led to my "fall from funny".

10. I spend 90% of my life doing laundry, and laundry is not funny.
9. At all times, someone in my house is sick.
8. 40 is quickly approaching, old age is making me grumpy.
7. It's hard to be funny while somebody is hanging on your leg whining.
Right now she is sitting on my lap whining.
6. I get interrupted too many times... like so far during this entry.

I got Cade and Reid on the bus, took Tasha out, picked up dog
poop, wiped Trey's butt, fixed waffle for Trey, fixed waffle for Aleah,
gave Aleah cheerios since she would not eat the waffle, fixed another
waffle for Trey, and fixed myself a bowl of cheerios and a cappucino.
Back to my blog entry.
5. Too busy yelling at my kids.
4. It's all Dora's fault. Too many episodes of Dora and Diego.
3. When I do have a funny idea, I just never get around to putting it on my blog.
2. What was I saying?
1. Sleep Deprivation!!!!!!

Don't be led astray....

I just want to warn all of my readers out there to not be led down the slippery road of blog stalking by Carrie Leonard. Since she is often the only person that actually reads my blog this post is really for her.

That blog is cracking me up.....
