Cade setting a screen in his school league.
We started basketball off at 9:30 this morning with Cade's first game. He was only able to play the first quarter, because he had his first school league game at 10:10.
But Cade was able to score 2 points and get a few rebounds in the first quarter. His points came from getting fouled while shooting, he informed me he almost made the shot too, and he made both of his free throws. Of course, mom, missed his first 2points. We met them at school. He was excited for his first school league game, because he was playing his buddy, Carson's team. Cade's team played very well and got lots of good shots, but they just did not fall the first half. They came out stronger the second half. Cade and Carson got to guard one another and the first play down Carson was bringing the ball down and Cade stole it and dribbled down to score his first basket in this league. Carson's team went on to win 28-12, so I think he will forgive Cade.
Reid's game was later in the afternoon. It was a pretty slow moving game and Reid really did not even touch the ball much. (a lot different from last week) The coach did call one play and another little boy came up and set a screen and Reid went off of it to drive in for a lay-up. He missed it, but I was still impressed that my little first grade boy knew how to go off of a screen and drive in. I know he is one of the youngest players on his team, if not the youngest. They led most of the game, but ended up losing 18-22.
Team huddle.
Reid bringing the ball in from out of bounds, getting ready for the play.
Nice play Reid.
